Firwan Johan is a young talent whose Malay music debut is produced and put out by BrandNewFeeling, a hiphop production and promotion unit in Singapore. Firwan’s first song ‘Hanya Kenangan’ received airplay on Ria 89.7FM and he also got the opportunity to compete in the radio station’s talent contest in which he won 2nd. The song ‘Hanya Kenangan’ was composed by Firwan himself with some lyrical assistance from Imran Ajmain.
Imran recorded his own version of the song, and the two versions have been mashed up to become the ‘Hanya Kenangan Remix’ out online on the 14th March 2013. Look out for it!
In the meanwhile, follow @FirwanJohan and @BNFsince2004 on Twitter and Instagram.
Imran recently performed for Jelajah Transformasi at the Kuala Terengganu edition of the tour. He appeared live on-air on TerengganuFM and sang two songs “Jika Engkau Pergi” and “Dikalung Kasihan”.

It might be unheard of to hear Imran behind the camera instead of being infront of it but he was chosen to style and photograph the pre-wedding of socialite couple, Yashran Rezal and Nuryusnani Yusof recently in Kuala Lumpur. As seen in the pictures above, Imran had chosen Victoria Institution as the backdrop for the casual shoot where Yashran went to school as a teen.
Yusnani is the daughter of popular film and TV producer, Yusof Kelana.
Congratulations to them both!

Actor Que Haidar sings Imran Ajmain’s “Seribu Tahun” to his wife, Linda Jasmine, in a taping of Romantika, a new reality-based TV program on celebrity couples on Astro. Video couldn’t be found online but above is the teaser/trailer of its first episode. Relaku menunggu mu…
Imran’s recent appearance at TPJC has caused some of the audience’s Instagram and Twitter accounts to get quite busy. All the pictures that were hashtagged #LinguaFranca during the time of the event have been collated and uploaded to a Facebook photo album. You may view it HERE.
Do tag yourself and your friends if you spot them there!
Special thanks to Zulkarnain Zainal, Akeem Mario, Nani Ilyani, Manal & Azlinah.
The design reflects Imran’s urgent desire to educate young Malays about the detrimental behaviour of not being proud of one’s language or race. The talk largely circles around the deterioration of the Malay language since the 1980’s and what a young under 21 year old can do to help make a change.
The artwork was designed by Imran’s regular contributor, Nani Ilyani, who goes by the name of @artsygeekchic on Twitter and Instagram. Nani also worked on the brilliant Imtiaz (Imran Ajmain’s Fan Club) logo.
This was recorded and uploaded by lowprofile2709 on YouTube, a concert-goer on-site at the recent One Heart Charity Concert at Paya Lebar, Singapore. Imran performed ‘Jika Engkau Pergi’ and ‘Dikalung Kasihan’.

Singaporean-born singer/songwriter returns from his base in Kuala Lumpur to teach? True or false? Sort of, true and false. Imran Ajmain appears at Tampines Junior College tomorrow on the 6th February 2013 in an event called #LinguaFranca to celebrate the Malay language in music in a one-off such event at the institution.
Imran has always had a keen eye on the Malay language which led him to be Singapore’s Bulan Bahasa ambassador twice over, once in 2006 and also during the last campaign organised by the local language council. And this time, he is bringing his goods over to the junior college to share a little of how the language brought him this far and what he thinks we could do to help preserve it, in an environment where most young Malay folk choose to speak in English.
The title of the event has a Twitter hashtag to encourage the audience to interact with him via his social media networks, largely unheard of in our waters where it is usually considered impolite to do so. Imran insists its the only way to go as this would help the introverts and shy cats speak up. “When they’ve learnt to speak up, then we talk about correcting the use of the language”.
He will be singing in this part talk part musical performance event organised by Tampines Junior College itself, supported by Impact Entertainment Group and Sungguh.com
Open to TPJC students and limited seats for outsiders. 3pm. Email at firstname.lastname@example.org
